Missing options within Console after Upgrade
Document #:10105

Applies To:
  • MailSite 5.x

Synopsis:
Missing options and windows after upgrading MailSite software

More Information:
When a new version of MailSite is installed over a previous version, MailSite will maintain all the current user accounts and settings.

However, often people apply their MSBACK file from the previous version. This is causes different options and windows from displaying properly.

Before the Installer program begins to update your previous installation of MailSite, it automatically creates an MSBACK of the old version and saves it to the root of the MailSite folder with the filename of: MSBACK#.INI.

For example if you have upgraded a few times before you will have a file called: MSBACK1.INI or MSBACK2.INI.

These files are ONLY to be used if you MUST downgrade to the previous version.

It is recommended that you generate a NEW MSBACK Configuration file of the new installation, and to save it off to a floppy disk for safe keeping.
